Nelnet’s Security Engineers work closely with our various business lines and our IT shared services team to help run, administer, and implement our application development environment securely. It is imperative that our engineers understand the business, the goal, information technology, and security. You must be able to: - Understand application and environment security testing, evaluation, and hardening. - Understand automated static and dynamic code analysis. - Develop internal automation and integrations with implemented security services. - Collaborate with development teams to advance security of applications through training, code review, promotion of best practices, and continuous process improvement. - Demonstrate an advanced level of understanding of numerous security products and processes. - Identify, test, implement, and maintain the necessary security products and processes to cost-effectively and uniformly protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. - Interface with both the business and user community to understand their security needs. - Partner with our IT shared services team to understand Nelnet’s total technology roadmap - Understand the policy, standards and procedures found in the Nelnet enterprise as well as understanding appropriate laws and regulations that our business needs to follow. - Review, analyze, implement and administer vendor and internally developed security software, products and procedures to address security requirements. - Be responsible for the evaluation of new technologies, tools, and/or development techniques that impact security.

**Pay range for this position is - $80k-130k
EDUCATION:
Knowledge equivalent to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related field of study.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Highly proficient in the use of multiple IT products, tools, and/or languages.
2. Familiarity and experience with various regulations governing IT environments.
3. Must have demonstrated industry experience and or leading certifications in a relevant field.
4. Experience must be applicable to one of the following:
5. Experience with continuous integration and DevSecOps is a plus
6. Experience with Microsoft 365 Security Stack, Defender, Purview, Defender for office is a plus
7. Experience with CSPM tools (WIZ or Prisma Cloud) is a plus
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
