Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our Business Unit Finance team, supporting our Product teams!

What is this role about?

The role supports the Finance Business Partner in the delivery of quality advice and information to support their allocated Product Domain business unit to meet and exceed their financial targets in the short, medium, and long term. This role covers the full P&L, with a 90% weighting on Revenue Management.

The responsibilities in this role include but are not limited to the following:

Reporting:

Performance Monitoring: Assist the Finance Business Partner with the monthly financial activities end to end for your Domain, covering month, YTD and performance reporting including driver-based variance analysis and commentary on Product Revenue, Operating costs and Investment activities.
Performance Reporting: Support the preparation of the monthly performance dashboards, highlighting key metrics, trends, and variances. Ensure reports are clear, accurate, and provide actionable insights.
Accruals & adjustments: Prepare and process accruals or adjustments to ensure that financial statements reflect the true economic condition of the BU.
Bi-annual Reporting: Support delivery of half year and year end commentary to the financial statements for the Domain’s Product drivers.

Decision Support:

Support the Finance Business Partner with the provision of high-quality driver-based commentary and insights to support key stakeholder decision making
Business partnering with key stakeholders in the Domains and across Channels and Finance teams.
Support both the Business Unit Finance Team and Domains with continuous improvement initiatives. Focused on enhancing productivity, efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of financial processes, and to drive insightful reporting developments.

Forecasting & Budgeting:

Assist with the delivery of financial plans and forecast – construct and maintain a driver based 3-year strategic plan and rolling monthly forecast in accordance with timetable.
Analysis of inputs, particularly transaction drivers (or similar) working with the business to gain driver-based inputs and insights.
Support the preparation of qualitative insightful reporting on budget/forecast submissions, including potential opportunity and risks

Qualifications

What can you bring?

More than 3 years’ experience within a management accounting or FP&A team
Strong analysis, management accounting and financial modelling skills
Proven and effective business partnering abilities
Demonstratable experience in delivery of continuous improvement initiatives or financial process change initiatives.
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite
Familiar with TM1 or similar multi-dimension planning analytics tool
Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective cmmunication and presentation skills

Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance related discipline

Although not required, any experience or knowledge in the following would be highly desirable:

Experience within retail banking or payments
CPA/CA qualification
