Job Description
Your Opportunity
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join on a Maximum-Term Contract until 30th September 2026 for a Workday Implementation Project.
In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users.
You’ll also make an impact by:
Prepare technical specifications and program design documents to meet user requirements and functional specifications.
Analyse, design, develop and test software solutions that meet user requirements according to approved IT standards and best practice methodology.
Collaborate with stakeholders (business stakeholders, product owners, and business analysts) to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
Adhere to architecture, design, implementation, and security standards and best practices.
Improve performance of existing software by diagnosing and resolving critical issues.
Create and maintain accurate documentation of Cuscal’s applications, systems and processes to ensure effective knowledge transfer and facilitate support and development.
Actively understanding and applying good risk management as per Cuscal’s risk and compliance management framework, strategy and related policies and procedures
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
3+ years' experience with system analysis and programming.
Understanding of Workday Report/Integration
Design Patterns
Experience in orchestrating business workflows
Webservices (REST)
PL/SQL (SQL Server or Oracle)
Data pipelines using Databricks, Azure and AWS
ETL/Integrations using AWS SaaS Landing Zone and Transit Gateway
AWS S3 Bucket and Lambda
Confluent Cloud or similar platform experience
CI/CD Tooling
Automated Unit Testing Frameworks (Spring Test, JUnit 5)
You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:
Knowledge of Finance, HR SaaS platform and business processes (General Ledger, Account Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expense, HR Recruitment, Time Tracking etc.)
Knowledge of Workday Studio and PRISM Integration
JMS (ideally with IBM MQ), Java Cryptography (JCA & JCE)
Test Driven Development (TDD)
