About the Role

As one of the prominent fintech players in Indonesia, Amartha provides financial services to underbanked women entrepreneurs in rural areas. We firmly believe that financial inclusion is key to building a sustainable economy that uplifts and supports the entire country.

We are currently seeking a leader to drive the strategic design, implementation, and optimization of core systems encompassing payments, financial operations, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. This role is critical in our fast-paced fintech environment, where agility, data integrity, and scalability are essential.

You will operate at the intersection of finance, accounting, product, and technology, ensuring that systems align with business needs while upholding data accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

As Amartha scales—now operating across multiple entities—the complexity of managing internal systems, financial operations, and compliance requirements continues to increase. We need a subject matter expert to lead this domain and serve as the bridge between product, tech, finance, and compliance. Your leadership will ensure our systems are seamlessly integrated, enable secure money movement, support accurate financial reporting, and provide an audit-ready infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Define and lead the vision and roadmap for payment and financial systems, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategy and finance objectives.
    • Own the product lifecycle for systems supporting payment processing, transaction reconciliation, settlements, financial accounting, and compliance reporting.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, risk, operations, and external partners to design scalable, secure, and efficient financial workflows.
    • Drive integration with financial infrastructure, including banks, payment gateways, e-wallets, and accounting platforms.
    • Ensure system reliability through the implementation of rigorous controls, real-time monitoring, and robust exception handling processes.
    • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to support audit readiness, financial compliance, and enterprise-grade data governance.
    • Translate complex financial regulations and internal control requirements into actionable product features and system requirements.
    • Lead and develop a high-performing team of product managers while managing relationships with external vendors and consultants to scale product delivery and support.

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of experience working with payment systems, ERP, billing platforms, or financial systems.
    • Proven track record in implementing or managing platforms relevant to fintech, with a focus on scalability and compliance.
    • Strong familiarity with payment processing, digital lending, or embedded finance ecosystems is a significant plus.
    • Deep understanding of core financial operations, including accounting principles, reconciliations, general ledgers, and revenue recognition.
Proficiency in SQL, system integration, data pipeline design, and business intelligence tools.
    • Hands-on experience with automation tools and adherence to best practices in financial data security and governance.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
    • Strategic mindset with a strong execution orientation—comfortable switching between big-picture planning and hands-on problem solving.

At Amartha, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, ensures equity, and fosters inclusion. We believe that diverse perspectives—shaped by factors such as gender, age, race, ethnicity, education, culture, and life experiences—drive innovation and growth.
