What’s the opportunity? 


 We’re looking for a Deputy Compliance Officer to join our team in Malta. In this role, you’ll help ensure regulatory alignment across the organization. You’ll partner with multiple teams to identify and manage compliance risks, oversee the design and implementation of controls, and ensure we meet our regulatory obligations across different areas, especially those related to financial crime.

What will I be doing?
  • Support the Compliance Officer in day-to-day oversight, monitoring activities, and timely regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in translating regulatory requirements into policies and help embed effective control design and quality checks into operational processes.
  • Support the execution and testing of the Compliance Monitoring Program, including assisting in delivering thematic reviews with clear findings and recommended actions.
  • Provide advisory support to cross-functional teams on compliance best practices.
  • Assist in overseeing safeguarding governance in line with MFSA expectations.
  • Assist in monitoring regulatory developments and support the coordination of impact assessments and implementation plans across stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory engagement and submission processes, helping ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Contribute to training and awareness initiatives, promoting a risk-aware culture across the organisation.
  • Assisting in interpreting MiCA, PSD2 and other regulatory requirements and incorporating them into internal policies, while embedding strong control frameworks and quality assurance measures across operational processes.
  • Supporting regulatory engagement and submission processes, including preparation of responses and documentation relating to CASP licence applications and MiCA transition requirements.                                                                                   


What skills do I need?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field—or equivalent experience       
  • 5+ years in compliance, AML, Transaction Monitoring, and KYC, ideally in a fintech or financial services environment
  • 2+ years experience in CASPs and MiCA regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience working with regulatory bodies.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environmentExperience with using AI tools will be valuable
  • Nice to have: Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
