What’s the opportunity?


We are seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support our Malta team and serve as the primary HR point of contact on the ground. This role will manage local HR operations while ensuring alignment with group-wide HR processes and standards. You will report directly to the Managing Director in Malta, with a dotted line to the Global HR function, operating in close partnership with teams across the organization. We’re looking for someone with strong seniority, presence, and charisma, capable of building trust with leaders, representing the company externally, and driving a positive employee experience

What will I be doing?
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle in Malta (onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, contracts, documentation).
  • Ensure alignment and localization of global HR processes and policies.
  • Serve as the go-to HR partner for employees seeking guidance and support.
  • Partner with managers to attract, engage, and retain top talent in the local market.
  • Support performance appraisal cycles, goal setting, and development plans.
  • Coordinate engagement surveys and follow-up initiatives.
  • Organize activities and initiatives that strengthen company culture locally.
  • Represent dLocal in local events, universities, and talent forums as needed.
  • Coordinate local and global training sessions, learning programs, and development opportunities.
  • Manage HR-related regulatory documentation required in Malta, including: Director appraisals, Key function holder evaluations, and Other HR compliance records.
  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing with external payroll vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax and social security requirements.
  • Review payroll inputs (new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits) and validate payroll reports prior to submission.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure payroll-related documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Work closely with the Global HR team to ensure consistency and high-quality implementation of global programs.
  • Act as a bridge between local operations and group-level HR strategies.


What skills do I need?
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HRBP in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presence, communication skills, and confidence to represent dLocal at events.
  • Proven experience building relationships with managers and senior leaders.
  • Hands-on, autonomous, and comfortable owning processes end-to-end.
  • Experience coordinating payroll with external providers and reviewing payroll accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance in Malta (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English.
