The Business Process Analyst - Process Automation ensures automation solutions are built on a deep understanding of the current business process and clearly defined delivery scope as defined by the Product Manager and stakeholders. By documenting how work is performed today; translating business intent into build-ready requirements; and supporting development, testing, and implementation, the BPA serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and the Process Automation team.Work Environment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manages post-intake fact-finding and project research for new initiatives, identifying additional opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
· Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates current-state business system, business rules, and user needs to document and define objectives for automation solutions.
· Ensures existing documentation reflects the current-state workflow. Supports stakeholders as they develop incomplete or missing documentation.
· Builds process maps, builds documentation of data inputs and outputs, and defines processing scenarios and edge cases for automation solutions.
· Translates functional and non-functional business requirements into technical outlines of work for the team and executes changes needed to respond to requirements.
· Develops test plans and ensures data provided by stakeholders or product teams meets testing conditions. Supports the stakeholders as they review and approve test results.
· Manages post-implementation issue tracking and problem resolution in support of the developers and engineers.
COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION
· Acts as the primary liaison among clients, operations, and technical staff during the lifecycle of an automation initiative. In doing so, remains flexible and positive in the face of frequent change.
· Partners collaboratively with stakeholders, product teams, and engineers to evaluate current-state business processes, document where and how automation can provide value, and manage automation testing.
· Presents project updates, findings, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Actively participates in team and department meetings and leads project discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
TIME BREAKDOWN
· 60% team-facing: Supporting requirements documentation, testing, and continuous improvement across the team's automation initiatives.
· 40% stakeholder-facing: Requirements gathering, process mapping, and testing and implementation coordination.
EDUCATION:
· Four-year college degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of two years of experience in a Business Process Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role with a focus on process automation or technical solutions.
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
· Solid project management and organizational capabilities, including prioritization and simultaneous management of multiple tasks with competing priorities.
· Familiarity with Kanban methodologies and project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
· Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining process documentation, such as process maps, flowcharts, and requirements specifications in line with project requirements and timelines.
· Meticulous attention to detail, including identification and definition of edge cases and nuances within project requirements.
· Commitment to human-in-the-loop detailed review of AI-produced documentation and testing criteria.
· Rapid adaptation to new technologies and business functions.
· Commitment to and skill in supporting a diverse range of learning styles by producing both highly visual overviews as well as detailed documentation of current-state and future-state of automation initiatives.
· Persistent pursuit of improvement in solution delivery and team SDLC processes.
· Approaches systems and business processes with an analytical and curious mindset to identify automation opportunities and potential risks.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to engage diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Outstanding consensus building, multitasking, interpersonal, and analytical abilities. Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
· Expertise in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and operational stakeholders across the business.
· Offering client support throughout automation implementation and ensuring thorough problem resolution as primary liaison for the team during execution and implementation of automation initiatives.
· Monitoring solution effectiveness, celebrating successes, and refining existing automation as necessary.
Starting annual salary range for this role: $65,000 - $85,000
