Nelnet Business Services (NBS) is hiring a Specialist I, Revenue Operations to execute targeted marketing campaigns that generate, nurture, and convert leads across our K–12 and higher education product lines. This role is key to driving pipeline growth and marketing performance through strong collaboration with Content, Design, Sales, and Product Marketing.

This position is ideal for an early-career marketer with hands-on experience in campaign execution, email marketing, and marketing automation. You’ll work across multiple platforms to support outbound and inbound efforts, ensuring all campaigns are data-informed, well-targeted, and performance-optimized.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in building and executing multi-touch campaigns across email, landing pages, social media, and outbound sequences using HubSpot, Apollo.io, or other platforms.
  • Support product-led growth (PLG) initiatives through in-app messaging, lifecycle campaigns, and nurture workflows.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Product Marketing, and Content teams to align messaging, timing, and goals for each campaign.
  • Build responsive email templates and dynamic landing pages for specific segments, industries, or buyer personas.
  • Monitor lead scoring models, enrichment processes, and CRM syncs to ensure proper lead flow and attribution.
  • Maintain and update contact databases, lists, and workflow triggers to ensure campaign accuracy.
  • Track and report on campaign performance metrics including open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and cost per lead.
  • Conduct A/B and multivariate testing to optimize subject lines, copy, CTAs, send times, and segmentation.
  • Recommend adjustments based on campaign analytics and performance trends.
  • Work closely with the content, creative, and digital marketing teams to request, review, and implement campaign assets (e.g., images, copy, CTAs).
  • Collaborate with peers across Revenue Operations to ensure smooth integration between systems and reporting consistency.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5+ years of experience in digital marketing, demand generation, or marketing operations—preferably in a SaaS or EdTech environment.

  • Experience using marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, or similar.

  • Experience with PLG funnels, lead scoring models, and buyer journey alignment preferred.

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in campaign-building workflows and audience segmentation.

  • Solid understanding of marketing KPIs and funnel metrics.

  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and landing page formatting.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, Creatio, or equivalent.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams.

  • Working knowledge of tools such as Canva, Google Analytics, or Apollo.io.

  • Enthusiasm for education, technology, and using data to solve problems.
