Senior Product Designer

First Circle
Remote friendly (Manila Metro Manila Philippines)
Worldwide

First Circle is one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in the Philippines, providing financial services to under-served SMEs. We've already transformed access to credit for thousands of businesses, and now we're building a full-stack neobank offering multi-currency bank accounts, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, and payroll. As we enter this next phase of growth, we're looking for exceptional talent with a track record of excellence to join us in shaping the next chapter.

We are hiring a Senior Product Designer with creative vision, product intuition, customer-centricity, a strong sense of aesthetic, and extremely high personal standards to deliver exceptional UX. When we say exceptional UX, we mean it. Small business owners in the Philippines have suffered using poorly designed products for too long. We're changing that. We’re not interested in bland and boring, we want to make the best and most intuitive, customer centric banking experience for our customers, something that feels world class at every step.

Responsibilities

You will play a significant role in designing user-centered products that enhance the overall customer experience, ensuring that our solutions are not only functional but also aesthetically beautiful and seamless. You'll work with a high degree of ownership across complex product areas, and be a meaningful contributor to how the design team operates and grows.

You will be a strong advocate for our users, ensuring their needs and preferences are at the forefront of our design process. Designing for businesses is even more challenging than individual consumers — you'll navigate the perspectives of multiple different user types across an expanding product surface. This role isn't for people who like an easy ride!

  • Building banking products: Work with product and engineering teams and take ownership of significant product areas of our SME NeoBank platform — credit, payments, FX, corporate credit cards, payroll — and adjacent opportunities such as internal operations tools
  • Visual design: push the boundaries of our design aesthetic and visual identity, translating our brand into our products for a truly world class CX and UX
  • Research & product discovery: lead customer-centric discovery work and collaborate closely with stakeholders like marketing, sales ops, and customer success to develop highly differentiated experiences through concepts, wireframes, and prototypes as we rapidly expand our product offering
  • Build systems & raise the bar: actively contribute to and champion the design system and design processes, ensuring we scale without sacrificing quality
  • Mentor & develop: Support the growth of junior designers on the team, sharing your expertise and helping to build a strong design culture
  • Growth opportunities: to take on broader strategic scope and champion design influence across the product teams
  • Proven experience as a Product Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work that you're proud of and can speak to in depth.
  • You likely have 4–7 years of professional design experience, with a meaningful portion spent in fintech and/or the SME space being a real bonus.
  • Demonstrated ability to design great experiences across iOS, Android, and responsive web platforms, including how you've resolved difficult design questions and navigated tradeoffs along the way. We’d love to see the examples from your portfolio that you’re most proud of.
  • Strong opinions on what the best looks like across design, UX, and craft — and the ability to articulate and defend them clearly.
  • Comfortable operating outside your comfort zone and handling ambiguity with composure. You’re able to ask the right questions and challenge answers to help move the work in the right direction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thoughtfulness across everything you do. Your work is well-presented with solid rationales behind it.
  • Actively seeks feedback and presents ideas clearly and with conviction
  • We don't have a fixed budget for the role. When we find the right person, we will pay them competitively vs their market rate.
  • Additional perks & benefits including HMO coverage from day one, free catered lunches, MacBook Air provided, monthly fitness allowance, transportation & accommodation allowance, and more
  • Join a team with a deeply collaborative culture - expect support, feedback and friendship.
