The Opportunity:


Gynger is seeking a Sr. Manager, Credit Strategy to shape Gynger’s credit brain. You’ll own the end‑to‑end underwriting strategy - from data‑source selection and fraud detection to automated decisioning rules and manual credit memos - so we can approve more good customers, faster, with confidence.


This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role at a high growth, category creating startup. You will have exposure to many aspects of the business and be given the opportunity to build products and processes that change the way businesses buy and sell technology.

In this role you will...
  • Define our credit policy, exposure limits, and risk‑based pricing frameworks for both installment and revolving products.
  • Identify, vet, and integrate third‑party data sources (banking, accounting, alternative data, KYC/KYB, fraud signals).
  • Build and iterate automated decision engines; set score‑card cutoffs, override rules, and second‑look paths.
  • Lead complex manual underwrites on higher‑risk or higher‑exposure deals; coach analysts on financial‑statement analysis and covenant structuring.
  • Develop early‑warning and portfolio‑monitoring dashboards; partner with Collections on triggers and loss‑mitigation tactics.
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering to embed credit logic into our platform and ensure flawless customer experience.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory guidance (UDAAP, ECOA, fair lending) and align policies accordingly.


You have...
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in credit risk underwriting strategy for SMB and/or mid‑market lending, card, or BNPL platforms.
  • Experience using analytical tools like SQL, Python, R or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
