The Role
The Senior Dealer - Market Risk exists to ensure Pepperstone’s exposure is monitored and controlled effectively and efficiently. Leveraging a solid understanding and knowledge of financial markets and the CFD industry, the Senior Dealer - Market Risk exercises discretion within agreed boundaries, ensuring Pepperstone remains agile and responsive in the face of rapidly changing market conditions.
In addition to monitoring and controlling financial exposure within the European timezone, the Senior Dealer - Market Risk collaborates closely with the wider global teams, aligning regional efforts with global strategies and contributing to the overall success of Pepperstone’s market risk management initiatives.
As our Senior Dealer - Market Risk, your key responsibilities will include:
- Proactively monitor exposure across asset classes to ensure we efficiently adhere to value at risk and exposure limits through our hedging activities.
- Actively minimise group market risk through the trading of financial instruments and escalate as required.
- Proactively analyse flow across several asset classes and ensure that flow is monetised effectively.
- Engage and contribute to ongoing Market Risk and Trading Operations projects relating to electronic trading infrastructure.
- Liaise with Prime Brokers and Liquidity Providers to maintain and enhance operations as required.
- Execute and manage the continuous rolling of spot FX and metals positions past settlement dates with the Prime Brokers.
- Support the efficient operations of our client trading environments, technical performance of the Liquidity Providers and trading infrastructure.
- Prepare reports/analysis as required by your immediate manager and/or senior management.
- Effectively consult and communicate with internal and external stakeholders such as Operations, Customer Services, Sales, Marketing, and Compliance.
- Provide strategic input to trading product roadmaps for the Pepperstone group.
- Work collaboratively with others across multiple channels and teams to foster a collaborative culture and help mentor and support team members.
- Support internal Enterprise Risk & Compliance teams as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with key regulatory obligations.
- Role model Pepperstone’s values by demonstrating integrity and a commitment to excellence.
About you
- Relevant certifications in Business or Finance
- Solid experience within dealing/trading team within a CFD broker
- Exceptional understanding of exposure management processes and dealing systems
- Demonstrate an understanding of maintaining, monitoring, and administering trading platforms, trading infrastructure, and bridge technologies
- Highly numerate, with the ability to clearly articulate data driven business insights
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to translate complex trading language and concepts into plain English
- Ability to adapt to ongoing change in a fast-paced and, at times, demanding environment
- Ability to highlight dealing issues accurately and in a timely manner
- Ability to meet deadlines, make independent decisions, and utilise sound judgement
- Ability to role model Pepperstone’s values
