About the role:
The Global Accounts Business Development Manager plays a key role in expanding Viva’s international footprint by building and growing relationships with global clients. This position combines strategic planning, sales, and cross-functional collaboration to drive revenue and ensure exceptional client satisfaction.
In this role, you will be responsible for accelerating growth with global accounts, enterprise merchants, and strategic partners by leveraging Viva’s comprehensive suite of in-person and online payment solutions, fiscalisation and banking services. With a strong focus on an omnichannel approach, you will identify, develop, and strengthen partnerships to deliver seamless integration of online and in-person payments within Viva’s unified payment ecosystem.
Beyond business development, this role extends into pre-sales support, customer and partner success, and partner enablement—ensuring smooth adoption, sustained engagement, and continuous revenue growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Global Account Management:
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and secure new global accounts in the payments sector. Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring their evolving payment processing needs are met.
- Create and deliver presentations and proposals describing Viva solutions and services for global accounts.
- Contribute to the development of business cases and perform business impact assessments for global merchants.
- Provide detailed project scoping, if needed, with the strategic merchants, provide project analysis services and define project specifications and design.
- As needed to support on project management services and support during the implementation of the project with continuous follow-up with all stakeholders within the organization and the Client.
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts/partners, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
- Sales and Revenue Growth: Actively manage the sales process, from lead generation and pitching to negotiations and contract finalizations. Achieve or exceed sales and net revenue targets by effectively promoting the company's payment solutions.
- Market Analysis and Strategy Development: Stay informed about global market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics in the card payments industry.
Utilize data analysis to develop strategies that enhance business performance and client satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, legal, and IT, to ensure seamless service delivery and address client requirements. Advocate for client interests within the organization to influence product offerings and service enhancements.
- Contract Negotiation and Compliance: Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial terms while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
- Industry Representation and Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote services and generate new business leads. Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to stay abreast of developments and identify partnership opportunities.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly assess and report on the performance of global accounts, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, including payments operators, central banks, and strategic partners, to maximize sales opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in business development, account management, or partnerships, within the payments industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; an MBA or background in engineering is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of global payment processing solutions, market dynamics, and regulatory environments.
- Strong network of ISVs, IHVs, and resellers within the payments industry.
- Hold strong presentation, communication, and third-party handling skills, particularly over video meetings or over the phone.
- International mindset with the ability to manage complex global accounts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in the local language and English.
