We are looking for a Senior Taxation Accountant to provide support in relation to a wide variety of tax advisory and project-based work for the group.
The Senior Taxation Accountant is responsible for overseeing the preparation and lodgement of all tax compliance matters for the Cuscal group of companies, including any overseas based subsidiaries. The responsibilities of the role include:
Overseeing monthly tax compliance obligations including BAS, IAS preparation, lodgement and allocation
Coordinate the preparation and submission of the Consolidated Income Tax Return, liaising with Business Units and external tax agents to ensure timely and accurate filings
Lead the coordination and compilation of R&D tax incentive calculations, working closely with Business Units and external advisors to maximize eligible claims.
Support the preparation and review of tax-related components of Budgets, Goods and Services Tax (GST), and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) obligations.
Assist the Senior Manager Taxation with tax audits, ATO assurance reviews and with any M&A projects as needed
Assist in managing relationships with tax-related vendors, including cost tracking, contract oversight, and performance evaluation as applicable.
About You
To be successful in this position you will have the following skills and experience:
Over 5 years of tax experience in a large accounting firm or corporate environment.
Proven expertise in applying tax-effective accounting principles in complex group structures.
Strong background in preparing Income Tax returns for tax-consolidated corporate groups.
Experienced in preparing FBT returns, BAS/IAS, and Annual Income and Investment reports.
Solid understanding of R&D tax incentive principles and hands-on experience preparing R&D returns.
In-depth knowledge of GST, particularly the taxation of financial supplies.
