The Test Team Lead is a senior technical leader that will be assigned to the Global Cloud Platform team at Caseware, responsible for the strategy, health, and continuous improvement of test practices across multiple pods. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on individual contributions and team enablement.
As a key driver of quality across a distributed cloud-native ecosystem, you will champion modern testing methodologies, lead the adoption of AI-assisted tooling, and ensure that the entire test function is equipped to meet the demands of a fast-moving, globally scaled platform.
AI Adoption & Team Enablement:
Identify and promote AI tools that improve test coverage, defect prediction, and automation (e.g., test script authoring, intelligent selection, anomaly detection).
Develop and implement an AI up-skilling plan for testers, from basics to practical application.
Run training and learning sessions to boost confidence and adoption of AI tools among testers.
Work with Quality leadership to integrate AI best practices into standards and processes.
Keep up with new AI testing technologies and share updates with the team regularly.
Partner with Quality leadership to evaluate and adopt AI tools. Provide guidance and support for the team, with enablement activities shared across the group.

\nAutomation Infrastructure & Tooling:
Review and refine test tools and frameworks to match platform changes.
Collaborate with the team to maintain and improve automation infrastructure and lead the design of new frameworks when needed.
Build new frameworks or prototypes for microservices and third-party integrations.
Collaborate in cross-team automation projects and share reusable components.
Audit automation test suites regularly for accuracy, coverage, and business value.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
Host technical meetings with testers to align priorities and share updates.
Identify and resolve technical issues to maintain workflow.
Advise as an expert on testing tools and processes.
Quickly address build and development pipeline problems.
Coordinate with Tech Ops to secure necessary resources.
Support deployments and release processes across environments.
Hands-On Testing & Product Knowledge:
Conduct both automated and manual testing to stay familiar with product workflows and platform behavior.
Regularly update your knowledge of product workflows so testing strategies match real user journeys and key business paths.
Help your team by writing code during critical delivery phases as needed.
Quality Assessment & Defect Management:
Use metrics like execution rates, coverage, and pass/fail trends to evaluate testing quality.
Review production defects to gauge deliverable quality and pinpoint process gaps.
Promote prevention and early detection, aiming to cut defect escapes and enhance shift-left practices.
People Leadership & Process Governance:
Oversee peer reviews of test scripts for efficient workflow and timely feedback.
Maintain consistent application of quality practices like code reviews, branching, naming, and documentation standards.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to help the team grow their skills, especially in automation and AI
Support technical and professional growth through coaching and career development within quality engineering.
5+ years in software quality engineering, including 2+ years as a technical lead or senior automation engineer.
Proficient in at least one modern automation framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, RestAssured, Karate, etc.).
Experienced with CI/CD pipelines and development tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and API testing (REST, GraphQL, event-driven).
Background in mentoring, coaching, or leading test engineering teams.
Skilled in defining and executing test strategies across agile teams.
Excellent communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with AI-assisted testing tools or Copilot-based script generation.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP and testing distributed or multi-region systems.
Knowledge of observability tools (NewRelic, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk) for production monitoring.
Background in automation or emerging tech training programs.
