This role
We are looking for a Risk Manager to own the credit risk analytical function for PayJoy’s Philippines business, based in our Bangalore hub. You will be given clear direction on the problems to solve and the frameworks to work within, and it will be your job to execute that work independently and drive it to conclusion with minimal hand-holding.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You will be in the data every day — monitoring portfolio performance, analyzing policy changes, building and maintaining the reporting infrastructure that keeps the Philippines credit risk function running. You are someone who takes full ownership of your workstreams, proactively flags risks, and doesn’t need to be chased for updates. This role has a clear path to team leadership as the Philippines business grows.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze credit portfolio performance for the Philippines business, tracking key risk metrics and producing regular reporting for senior stakeholders
- Execute data-driven analyses to assess the impact of credit policy changes before and after implementation, working within the framework set by senior risk leadership
- Build and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, and automated reports using SQL and Python to support ongoing risk monitoring and reduce manual effort
- Apply and track predictive credit models in production — flagging performance changes, documenting findings, and surfacing recommendations to senior leadership
- Leverage modern AI-powered developer tools (such as Claude Code) to automate recurring processes and improve the reliability of credit risk workflows
- Work closely with Philippines country operations, collections, and product teams to ensure credit risk considerations are reflected in day-to-day decisions
- Support compliance with BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) requirements and other applicable regulatory obligations for the Philippines market
- Grow into a team leadership role as the Philippines business and Bangalore hub scale — this is an IC position today with a supported and well-defined path to managing others
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in credit risk, consumer lending, or a closely related analytical role
- Experience with Southeast Asian lending markets preferred; familiarity with the Philippines consumer finance landscape or BSP regulatory environment is a strong plus
- Strong track record of independently owning analytical projects from brief through to delivery, without requiring significant oversight
- Solid technical skills in SQL and Python — you use these tools to do real work, not just to demonstrate proficiency
- Exposure to credit scoring models or ML-based risk tools; comfortable interrogating model outputs and translating them into clear findings
- Comfortable using modern AI tools to automate recurring tasks and improve analytical throughput
- Highly organized and reliable — you keep your work on track, communicate proactively, and close your loops
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings to both technical peers and non-technical business stakeholders
- Comfortable working across time zones to collaborate with Philippines-based operations teams
- English required; Filipino language skills are a plus
