Platform Manager Job Description
As a Platform Manager, you are expected to deliver the following based on your professional experience in the Financial Industry.
Vendor Sourcing, Due Diligence, Contracting and Negotiations
- Responsible for conducting vendor scan/benchmarking based on business, technical and operational requirements.
- Prepares the compliance package to be sent out to vendors.
- Leads the vendor assessment in coordination with relevant internal resources.
- Responsible for creating a recommendation based on the vendor's assessment.
- Responsible for analyzing cost to build and TCO.
- Performs contract negotiation with Legal and creates contract summary for approval to stakeholders.
- Understand the cost model of the vendor and negotiate with Procurement to get the most cost effective plan for the company.
- Serves as key contact for management and other stakeholders to align IT/business requirements, vendor strategy, performance and roadmap
- Handles vendor-related incidents, crisis, and conflicts by effectively collaborating with both parties resulting in win-win solutions
Platform Design and Delivery
- Translates business and operational requirements of business owners and stakeholders into appropriate functional and technical specifications and requirements.
- Designs the platform capabilities according to what best meets the specifications and requirements.
- Aligns the platform design with the product roadmap.
- Works with an internal team to provide the estimated timelines and costs for each initiative to the sponsor for business casing.
- Drives the delivery of platforms together with project management, procurement, SA, SD, Infra and network groups, ensuring on-time, on-spec, and on-budget execution.
- Manages constraints, challenges, and changes that affect the platform delivery
Platform Lifecycle Management & Rationalization
- Provides inputs for the development of new service roadmaps, breakthrough ideas, and business opportunities.
- Develops platform capability roadmaps in view of anticipated or emerging technologies.
- Drives development of new capabilities to deliver an expanded or enhanced platform portfolio.
- Drives utilization of existing platforms by business partners through recommendations that apply existing platform capabilities with business needs.
- Recommends and identifies platforms based on TIME quadrant assessment.
- Leads process improvement initiatives for more efficient and streamlined use of a platform, allowing for faster and more effective roll-out of new services.
- Maintains a cost management mindset and monitors platform’s TCO.
- Triggers timely Platform Renewal
- License usage monitoring
