What's the opportunity?


We’re looking for a People Operations & Payroll Lead to oversee our global People Ops function. You’ll lead the team, ensure seamless payroll and employee operations across multiple countries, and partner with Finance and Legal to support key business decisions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys building scalable, employee-focused processes.

What I will be doing?
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the People Ops and Payroll team, translating company-wide initiatives into actionable team goals and career development paths. Set priorities, allocate country scopes, and ensure coverage across time zones.
  • Variable Pay Cycles Management: Partner with internal teams (RevOps/Finance) to define cycle timelines and validation logic. Review and verify all calculation inputs before loading them into the HRIS.
  • Global Expansion & Strategy: Oversee the operational setup for entering new markets, including opening new payrolls and establishing local compliance frameworks in new entities.
  • Risk & Problem Resolution: Act as the final point of escalation for critical operational roadblocks. Identify "Single Points of Failure" and develop contingency plans for global payroll providers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary partner for Finance, Legal, and RevOps to ensure the People Operations roadmap supports the company’s financial goals.
  • Change Management: Lead the communication and adoption strategy for new digital tools, policies, or organizational changes within the People Ops ecosystem.


What skills do I need?
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in People Operations, Payroll, HR Operations, or a related field — including global or multi-country scope
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, including mentoring, performance management, and career development
  • Proven track record leading operational, payroll, or HR programs across multiple geographies and stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll governance, social security, and tax frameworks
  • Experience partnering with Finance, Legal, and RevOps/Compensation on compensation cycles, financial modeling inputs, or variable pay programs
  • Experience supporting organizational change, new tool rollouts, and process adoption
  • Ability to identify operational risks, implement controls, and build contingency plans
  • Experience setting team priorities, workload distribution, SLAs, and cross-time-zone coverage
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including executive-level interaction
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience in high-growth, tech, or fintech environments
  • Prior involvement in global expansion, entity setup, or launching payroll in new countries
  • Background working with Treasury / FP&A on payroll funding, accruals, and financial impact
  • Experience in operational excellence, risk management, SOX/control environments, or audits
  • Knowledge of or exposure to automation & AI tools (e.g., AI copilots, RPA, workflow automation, Zapier, data pipelines) to improve process efficiency and decision-making
