We are looking for an intern or consultant for the Greenlight product team to perform a detailed analysis of the family tech landscape in the Indian market and present strategic recommendations on potential opportunities and business models.

 

This role reports to the VP of Products.

What you will be doing:
  • Competitive Landscape Analysis:
  • Identify and analyze key direct and indirect competitors in the Indian market across relevant categories
  • Map out their core value propositions, key features, pricing models, and target audience.
  • Assess their market positioning, user reviews, and perceived strengths and weaknesses.
  • Market Opportunity Assessment:
  • Analyze the market size, demographic trends, and digital adoption rates relevant to families and parenting in India.
  • Identify key segments within the target market (e.g., based on income level, urban vs. rural, age of children).
  • Research cultural nuances and regional differences in parenting styles and technology usage that could impact product adoption.
  • Consumer Needs & Behavior Research:
  • Conduct primary research (e.g., surveys, user interviews, or focus groups) with Indian parents to understand their primary challenges, needs, and priorities.
  • Investigate current technology usage for managing family life, safety, and children's development.
  • Explore their willingness to adopt new digital tools and their perceptions of free vs. paid applications.
  • Feature Validation and Prioritization:
  • Assess the appeal and perceived value of our proposed feature concepts
  • Identify which features would be powerful drivers for initial adoption and sustained engagement.
  • Provide recommendations on which features are "must-haves" versus "nice-to-haves" for a successful launch.
  • Monetization Strategy Exploration:
  • Investigate viable revenue models suitable for the Indian market, such as freemium, subscription, or in-app purchases.
  • Analyze consumer sensitivity to pricing for family-oriented apps and services.


What is expected to deliver:
  • A comprehensive market research report summarizing findings from all research areas.
  • A detailed competitor analysis matrix comparing features, pricing, and market positioning.
  • A summary of key insights and verbatim quotes from consumer interviews/surveys.
  • A final presentation with strategic recommendations on target audience, core value proposition, key features for launch, and potential business models.
