The Role
We’re looking for a driven LATAM Expansion Lead to own Nium’s growth across Latin America. You will lead new market entry across priority countries; from regulatory strategy and licensing to partner onboarding and launch readiness. In addition, you will deepen Nium’s presence in its existing markets – Mexico and Brazil, by evolving our product capabilities through licensing projects and banking partner engagement.
This is a high-impact role collaborating closely with Legal, Compliance, Product, Treasury, Tech, Ops, and Commercial teams to deliver successful market launches.
What You’ll Own
Work with the Head of Global Expansion to define and execute Nium’s LATAM expansion roadmap. For each market in the roadmap you will:
-Complete cost / benefit analysis and identify the optimal route to market based on regulatory environment, banking ecosystem and Nium’s product requirements.
-Lead licensing strategy and regulatory engagement in each target market, owning end to end the application and authorisation process.
-Establish local entities and create a hiring plan based on license requirements and product launch roadmap.
-Build and manage key local banking and payment ecosystem partnerships to enable Nium’s products in each market.
-Work closely with central product teams to scope local requirements and feed these into the product roadmap.
-Track budgets, risks, timelines, and report on a periodic basis to Head of Global Expansion and the wider senior leadership at Nium.
What We’re Looking For:
Nium is a payments firms operating primarily in the B2B space. Its products cover payouts and cross-border transfers for Financial Institutions and Corporate clients, such as payroll and platform service providers. In addition, Nium operates a card issuance product with a particular focus on the travel booking sector (both airlines and hotels). You should have:
-Deep experience in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services, with a familiarity of one of the above product verticals.
-Proven experience launching or expanding into LATAM markets.
-Strong understanding of regional regulatory frameworks covering payments, electronic money and stablecoins.
-Experience working with regulators, banks, or payment networks.
-Strong commercial and project management skills.
-Fluency in Spanish required; Portuguese a bonus.

Location:
We have offices in Mexico City and Sao Paulo. Our preference is for you to be based in one of these locations. Travel is required and essential for this role.
