We're now looking for a seasoned HR Manager based in Shenzhen to lead and strengthen our People operations across the region. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone with deep experience in HR processes and a strong understanding of compliance and employment regulations in China.

What You’ll Be Doing

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Lead and manage the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, contract changes, terminations, and offboarding processes
  • Coordinate with the Finance and Operations teams to support monthly payroll processes and ensure accurate employee data
  • Oversee and continuously improve HR systems and documentation across the region

Visa and Mobility Support

  • Partner with our Hong Kong team to manage employment visa applications and renewals for employees in China
  • Liaise with immigration consultants and relevant authorities to ensure compliance for non-resident team members
  • Support onboarding and integration of international hires and remote workers

Documentation and Compliance

  • Draft, review and manage employment contracts and other HR-related documentation
  • Ensure all processes and documentation are legally compliant and align with local labor laws and global company policies
  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure organisational readiness for audits or inspections

People Operations Leadership

  • Act as the go-to person for HR in China, providing guidance and support to employees and managers
  • Contribute to HR strategy by identifying areas for improvement, streamlining operations, and enhancing employee experience
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to support initiatives around performance management, employee engagement, and workforce planning

You’ll thrive in this role if you are highly organised, detail-oriented and take pride in setting others up for success. As a senior member of the People team, you’ll be comfortable owning complex processes, collaborating across borders, and ensuring compliance at every step.

General Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience, including senior-level responsibilities in employee lifecycle management, compliance, and payroll coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese labor law, with working familiarity of Hong Kong employment law and visa processes
  • Proven experience handling employment visa applications and renewals in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
  • Comfortable using and managing tools such as HRIS, ATS, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • A proactive, detail-focused mindset, able to anticipate potential issues and implement effective solutions
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working across regions and with cross-functional teams
  • Bonus: Experience supporting IT and office operations during onboarding processes
