⭐ Mission
Join us as Head of Business Development Central Europe and drive Qonto's market domination in Germany through strategic partnerships and ecosystem development. You'll be instrumental in establishing Qonto as "THE financial solution" for Freelancers, Start-ups and SMEs through our partner ecosystem. As a right-hand to our leadership team, you'll drive our Go-to-Market strategy across core partnership domains - highly integrated with our Product department and Sales/Key Account Management functions.
Impact
As Head of Business Development Central Europe, you'll spearhead a step change in our partnerships approach and lead the strategic partnerships and affiliate marketing functions across Germany to unlock exponential growth. You'll report to Malte Dous and play a critical role in accelerating Qonto's expansion in our #2 strategic market through innovative partnership strategies.
👩💻🧑💻 As Head of Business Development Central Europe at Qonto, you will:
• Develop new strategic partnerships by identifying, negotiating, and executing go-to-market strategies with key partners including tech integrations, venture capital firms, tax advisors, and affiliate marketing programs
• Build and scale the partnerships ecosystem across different verticals (accounting, e-commerce, fintech, tech-oriented industries) to unlock B2B2SME partnerships leveraging Qonto's expanding product suite
• Lead and manage the partnerships and affiliate marketing teams while building a high-performing compact team in our scale-up environment, managing hiring and strategic staffing decisions
• Drive ecosystem partnerships by establishing strategic relationships with local partners, connecting with industry leaders, and presenting Qonto's value proposition in high-stakes B2B relationships
• Establish Qonto as the go-to solution for freelancers and SMEs by developing our Accountants Network & Tax Advisors channel and driving affiliate performance marketing across all partnership channels

• Strategic market opportunity: Lead Germany's fintech transformation in our #2 market with high-impact growth opportunities including e-invoicing expansion, financing hub development, and tech ecosystem partnerships
• Partnership leadership: Direct responsibility for partnerships and affiliate marketing teams in Germany, with the opportunity to build integrated go-to-market strategies and develop new partnership channels from scratch
• Cross-functional collaboration: Support and collaborate with Product teams on technical integrations, Growth teams on broader strategies, and executive leadership on strategic market penetration initiatives

Malte brings extensive experience in scaling business development teams in the German market and has successfully built collaborative relationships across sales, marketing, and partnerships functions. As your manager, he'll provide strategic guidance on market penetration while giving you full ownership of the partnerships and affiliate marketing functions.
Malte values entrepreneurial thinking and results-driven leadership, with a track record of supporting leaders who take ownership and drive growth through innovative partnership strategies.
🏅 About You
• Experience: You have significant business development and partnerships experience, with substantial overall professional experience. You're a strategic generalist who has successfully built and scaled B2B2SME partnerships
• Partnership leadership: You have proven experience leading and managing partnerships and/or affiliate marketing teams, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results in fast-paced, compact scale-up environments
• Entrepreneurial mindset: You have zero-to-one or turnaround experience, ideally as a founder (especially "failed founder") or with consulting/investment banking background plus operator experience. You demonstrate clear learning loops from challenges and bias to action
• Strategic acumen: You can quickly grasp technical integration concepts, present and sell software in B2B relationships, and translate complex partnerships into business value. Experience in B2B fintech or adjacent regulated industries preferred
• Ecosystem development expertise: You've developed and grown affiliate/channel programs and partnership ecosystems with clear KPIs, defined partner tiers, and strategic relationship management, preferably in B2B fintech or adjacent SaaS environments
• Executive presence: Proven ability to stand in front of boards, engage with venture capital firms, and other high-level stakeholders
• Languages and location: You are fluent in German & English and located in Berlin
