Frontend Engineer II, Bank Reporting

The Reporting & Reconciliation group is a foundational pillar of Adyen’s product offering. It enables our broad portfolio of merchants to conduct business critical activities centered around reporting and reconciliation through data access and analysis. It is a key driver of trust and satisfaction for all our merchants and partners.

Adyen is looking for a Frontend Engineer II to join the Bank Reporting team in Chicago to build intuitive, performant, and reliable user interfaces for merchants using our platform. The merchants use the products built by the Reporting teams to understand their usage of the Adyen platform in detail, and to perform financial reconciliation. As a result, this role requires a solid understanding of both the business context and its data needs, with a focus on improving the reconciliation user experience for merchants. As a Frontend Engineer at Adyen, you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, product development teams, other frontend engineers, as well as product designers to ensure that there is a cohesive user experience on the reporting experience for our merchants. In this role you will help to enable new ways for the merchants to understand and visualize their data. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about frontend architecture, cares about design and usability, and enjoys solving complex problems through a thoughtful UI. 

What you’ll do

• Scope: You will be part of our Bank Reporting Team, composed of both Data Engineers and Backend Engineers, and will be enabling new ways for merchants to visualize their data, while also enhancing the existing reporting and reconciliation user interface for the external merchants.
• Ownership: You will be responsible for the full life cycle of your projects. This includes communicating with stakeholders (product owners, product designers, account managers, merchants e.g.), testing, iterating purposefully, and monitoring the impact of your projects. You will have the freedom to identify and improve parts of the platform. 
• Customer Focus: Maintain an in-depth understanding of who our customers are and how your product/features are benefiting them via direct collaboration with them.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Frontend developers in other teams and time zones to ensure that our user interface/experience is consistent and that we are building and growing scalable frontend frameworks across our reporting teams and the broader company product suite.
• Managing Complexity: Translate complex data and requirements into clear, digestible, and interactive visual interfaces for our merchants that aid in reconciliation.

Who you are

• You have experience building frontend applications using well established frameworks such as Vue.js, Preact, or Typescript.
• You recognize yourself in the Adyen Formula: being open minded, having a proactive attitude, always trying to make it work while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
• You actively share your knowledge and enthusiasm to develop yourself and your team.
• You are comfortable with asking and receiving constructive feedback from your colleagues regularly.
• You’re able to independently gather technical requirements and create a plan to execute those requirements.
• You are a strong team player, you like to connect and communicate in person with your team members and other stakeholders to come to the best solution.
