Job Description:

 

The UX/UI Designer is obsessed with two things: conceptualizing amazing products/features and designing flawless UX/UI for them.

 

The ideal candidate would have a UX background with sound business acumen to be able to conceptualize features that are super easy to use, which at the same time are aligned with the business’s objectives.

                                                           

We have different products and live in different countries and regions. We are now looking to launch in new markets while creating a richer experience for the current products. We are also going to be releasing numerous features and products in complimentary verticals. It is the UX/UI Designer’s responsibility to make sure we have done the correct research and build a philosophy behind how a feature should look and feel. The candidate will be working to create these features, while taking the responsibility to reason about UX optimization to improve funnel conversion based on data. They are also expected to own all UX/UI launches in new countries by working with other team members to ensure that the released version matches the planned version.

 

You are an entrepreneurial mobile enthusiast who knows how to take an idea and turn it into something real in an interactive consumer-facing environment. You believe mobile apps are the future and want to go above and beyond to make the live products what we had imagined during planning sessions. You also know that you can build a better customer experience than the one currently offered by incumbents.

                                                           

We are a young company and are moving fast, so the candidate is required to manage multiple initiatives and products for different countries and take initiative without constant supervision, you have to be hungry for success and growth. This means if something isn’t being done, you don’t wait for it to be done. You will work on the feature planning to ensure all teams have a clear plan on the scope of work. This role requires creativity, analysis, and execution.

What success looks like:
  • Releasing revolutionary features which create a more holistic UX/UI offering while taking into account app engagement, overall product quality, NPS and conversion rates
  • Successfully launch products in multiple countries
  • Further establish Wahed as the pioneer in Halal Investing - feature wise and design wise
  • Have a really strong understanding of the robo and FinTech space


Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a cross functional team of designers and project managers on all parts of the UX/UI development lifecycle
  • Own feature ideation and own its UX/UI by working with the VP to outline business objectives and the design team to bring this to life
  • Conceptualize simple flows and elegant experiences, across our mobile and web platforms by conducting UX research and analysis
  • Help us shape our visual aesthetic and create a cohesive brand presence across all our products in all countries
  • Have a great eye for flawless design
  • Have a solid understanding of user behavior and adjust features accordingly. The candidate is required to know the industry inside out
  • Make personal finance approachable, intuitive, and engaging through innovative features and clean UX
  • Learn and contribute through regular design meetings and critiques


Job Requirements:
  • Loves the product. Plain and simple – that’s above everything else
  • 3+ years of experience in product and/or UX design with solid business acumen. Experience in FinTech is a highly preferred
  • Understanding of personal finance
  • Ability to conceptualize features from scratch while following best practices
  • Solid UX portfolio
  • A track record of successfully releasing digital products and features
  • Understanding of the UX/UI release cycle
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Empathy, emotional intelligence, and a love of feedback.
  • Extra attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
  • Degree in a Design or a related technical field
