Join us as a Fraud Project Manager to bring structure and speed to our fraud prevention initiatives across 8 European markets. You’ll take ownership of project execution, audit readiness, and continuous improvement, enabling our fraud operations to better and faster protect customers.
You will work closely with Thibault, our Head of Fraud, and support a team of 4 Team Leads managing ~40 people across France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Belgium.
👩💻🧑💻 As a Fraud Project Manager at Qonto, you will
• Lead and coordinate fraud prevention projects from design to implementation, working with Product, Tech, Compliance, and Operations teams to deliver improvements in weeks, not months. Whether it's optimizing account takeover flows, mapping the fraud risk landscape, or streamlining phishing countermeasures.
• Support leads and agents across all markets by providing methodological and operational guidance on their projects, helping them scope work clearly, track milestones, and deliver results without losing focus on daily production.
• Conduct quarterly Fraud Internal Audits per market to ensure our processes and procedures are ready for a potential Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) audit, identifying gaps, building remediation plans, and tracking progress until closure.
• Design, implement, and monitor countermeasures following audits or fraud incidents, acting as the dedicated point of contact to turn findings into action and measurable improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by spotting opportunities to automate, simplify, or strengthen existing processes (like KO flows), and running Kaizen sessions with operational teams to reduce cost-to-serve and improve daily work quality.
🤔 What you can expect
• Purpose you can feel: Your work directly protects Qonto's 600,000+ customers and strengthens trust in the wider banking ecosystem. Every process you optimize, every audit you run, and every countermeasure you implement has a real impact.
• Impact in weeks, not months: We value speed and iteration. You'll ship improvements continuously, reduce cost-to-serve, and raise audit readiness without waiting for perfect conditions.
• High autonomy: Spot issues, propose solutions, and deliver value fast. We use a bottom-up prioritization approach, which means you'll have the freedom to tackle what matters most with the support of your manager.
• Cross-functional canvas: You'll partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Ops Engineering, Ops Tooling, and Fraud Security teams.
• Lean Mindset: We accelerate growth using structured tools inspired by Lean management principles. You'll be immersed in the Qonto Way, our culture of continuous learning and improvement.
🤝 About your future manager
• Thibault is our Head of Fraud and has been with Qonto for over 6 years, growing from Analyst to Head. He relocated to Barcelona in 2022 to establish and scale our AML/Fraud team from scratch.
• He brings a hands-on, results-oriented leadership style. He's obsessed with continuous improvement and believes in giving his team autonomy to solve problems and deliver impact. He values bottom-up prioritization, clear communication, and building a culture where everyone can grow. You'll have the space to take ownership, make decisions, and shape how fraud project management works at Qonto.
🏅 About You
• Proven project management experience: You have at least 2 years of experience delivering structured projects with clear scopes, weekly milestones, and measurable outcomes. You can walk us through a project you delivered in 6 weeks or less and explain the trade-offs you made.
• Process mapping and root cause analysis skills: You can map a broken process from current state to future state, identify 2-3 root causes behind bottlenecks, and design pragmatic countermeasures that stick.
• Regulatory and audit literacy (Fraud/AML/AFC): You have a minimum understanding of fraud, AML, or anti-financial crime requirements. You've run or prepared for an internal audit, tracked findings, and built remediation plans.
• Stakeholder management and influence: You know how to align Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations teams when priorities conflict. You can influence without authority, run bottom-up intake and prioritization with leads, and communicate clearly across functions.
• Operational efficiency mindset: You baseline time and cost, size opportunities, and verify impact post-change. You've reduced handling time or externalized work before, and you can explain when to automate vs. standardize vs. externalize.
At Qonto we understand that true diversity isn't just about ticking boxes on a hiring checklist. Apply regardless of the boxes you tick! Who knows? You may have the missing piece of the puzzle we've been searching for all along.
