We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

We are building a world-class Finance Systems team at Plaid to optimize finance operations and reporting. We work cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Legal, Engineering, and Security  to ensure our finance stack is reliable, secure, and scalable.

As a Finance Systems Lead, you’ll manage and optimize Plaid’s NetSuite ERP and related financial applications. You’ll help drive automation and improve data integrity across our finance tech stack. You’ll be hands-on with integrations, workflows, reporting tools, and system configurations. Your work will directly support critical finance processes and strategic scaling initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Own & Lead the Finance Stack: You will be the primary owner of the finance systems stack—setting strategic direction, prioritizing the roadmap, and remaining hands-on to build and customize within NetSuite. You will oversee the reliability of integrations across the stack—including Numeric, Pigment, Tesorio and Paystand—to enable seamless data flow and high data integrity.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: You will partner with Accounting, FP&A, Engineering, and RevOps to translate complex business and reporting requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
  • Ensure SOX Compliance: You will own the design and execution of SOX-compliant system controls, documentation, and change management in close partnership with Accounting and Audit.
  • Drive Innovation & AI: You will spearhead continuous automation and process improvements, including the strategic adoption of AI-enabled workflows to eliminate manual friction.
  • Team & Vendor Leadership: You will lead, coach, and develop finance systems team members and manage external consultants as needed to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of the roadmap.

Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in financial systems leadership, with deep expertise in system optimization and scaling within a high-growth technology company.
  • Hands-on Technical Acumen: Expert-level ability to build within NetSuite, including experience with SuiteScript and complex workflows
  • Outcome-Oriented Execution: A "high-ownership" project leader who is comfortable challenging the status quo; you take full accountability for the roadmap, driving cross-functional initiatives from requirements to launch with urgency and grit.
  • Executive Presence & Communication: Exceptional ability to "speak both languages"—distilling technical complexity into clear strategic choices for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Team & Vendor Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing internal talent and external consultants, with a focus on holding third-party partners accountable and driving high-quality outcomes through others.
  • SOX & Controls Ownership: Proven experience maintaining SOX-compliant system controls, including change management, audit trails, and user access, to ensure a high-trust financial environment.
  • Financial Stack Optimization: Deep experience managing and integrating tools across the finance lifecycle—such as Salesforce for Quote-to-Cash, Numeric for close management and Pigment for FP&A — with NetSuite.
  • AI Adoption & Innovation: Demonstrated ability to evaluate and implement AI-enabled solutions and intelligent automation to modernize financial processes.
  • Public Company Expertise: Experience operating within a publicly traded tech company, bringing architectural discipline and reporting standards for large-scale environments.
