How do we work?

The Data Product Manager is responsible for setting the strategy and roadmap of one or more data products while working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires high-level expertise in product management and data engineering/analytics. The Data Product Manager forges productive working relationships internally and externally, and implements best practices that make a positive impact, through the use of data, on client revenue, organizational performance and compliance.

In this role, you will:

• Keep the roadmap for your data product area accurate and clear
• Collaborate with development team(s) to translate goals into concrete deliverables
• Form close relationships with target data producers and consumers (internal or external) to understand their needs and to identify opportunities
• Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your data product
• Stakeholder management
• Perform cost benefit analysis to help prioritise initiatives and set objectives/measures
• Lead data product delivery, from scope discussion, to customer discovery, to estimates, commitments, planning, documentation, communications and launch
• Identify cross functional requirements and manage dependencies with other data product teams
• Introduce and optimise processes that reduce risks and operational overhead for your data product area
• Participate in Business Acceptance Testing before releasing significant changes on Production environment
• Perform post delivery analysis to determine if objectives have been achieved
• Produce management reports tracking your data product and delivery progress
• Keep abreast of new innovations and to present/test new ideas/opportunities that could help drive new initiatives and ultimately improve the value stream
• Build partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
• Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, correlations, and insights. Utilizes statistical tools and techniques to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Be able to design and conduct experiments, collect data, and draw actionable conclusions to drive business strategies.
• Write complex queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
• Help develop the skillset and behavioral competencies of others and help them achieve growth at a professional level. Trains and develops strengths of others to make them capable of handling greater responsibilities.

What skillset do you need to be successful in this role?

• 2+ years in a data analytics or BI role

• good SQL

• strong understanding of trading or marketing or finance depending on the data area

• working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)

• an eagerness to create long lasting meaningful professional relationships
