Job Description

Your Opportunity

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Acquiring Services Domain.

In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users.

You’ll also make an impact by:

Design Solutions: Develop and maintain scalable pipelines. Ensure systems are designed for extensibility, are robust, and can handle large volumes of data efficiently.
Data Integration: Integrating data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency. Work on data transformation, processing, and loading to support analytics and business intelligence needs.
Performance Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within the Databricks environment, including optimizing the data ingestion processes and ensuring efficient data querying.
Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet those needs. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
Innovation and Improvement: Continuously explore new data technologies and methodologies. Implement best practices for data engineering in partnership with our Data practice.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data workflows, architectures, and best practices. Ensure that all data processes are well documented and reproducible.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

4+ years of experience building and managing large data platform environments in the cloud.
Experience with SAP Business Objects Business Intelligence & SAP Business Objects Data Services.
Strong knowledge of Cloud AWS platform/applications.
A solid background in the management of Oracle DBMS and Oracle Exadata.
Strong knowledge in data modelling philosophies like Kimball, Inmon or Data Vault.
Experience with modern MPP cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
Experience with SQL, Python coding, and data modelling skills.
Experience in CI/CD pipelines using Terraform Cloud and Github.

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

Experience in the financial services or payments sector.
Experience working within PCI-DSS compliant environment.
