Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Compliance to support and lead compliance efforts and ensure adherence to financial regulations, industry best practices, and enterprise risk management standards in a rapidly evolving and highly regulated industry.
Key Responsabilities:
- Compliance Strategy Development: Design, implement, and evolve compliance strategy aligned with regulations, enterprise risk, and company goals.
- Compliance Management System: Continuously monitor and strengthen a comprehensive compliance management system (CMS) across the enterprise with policies, procedures, and controls.
- Risk Oversight: Support enterprise risk management initiatives, integrating compliance with legal, operational, and reputational risk frameworks.
- Regulatory Oversight: Manage relationships with regulatory and licensing authorities and external auditors; oversee regulatory examinations, audits, and licensing.
- Reporting & Communication: Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management and the board of directors on compliance activities, issues, and trends.
- Monitoring, Auditing, and Quality Assurance: Develop and oversee compliance monitoring and testing programs.
- Controls Implementation: Establish and enforce internal controls; embed compliance into product and operational processes.
- Remedial Actions: Lead investigations, oversee corrective actions, and ensure timely remediation of deficiencies.
- Bank & Partner Oversight: Manage compliance aspects of bank sponsorships, vendor relationships, and third-party partnerships. Develop oversight programs and ensure adherence to regulatory expectations.
- Training & Development: Deliver compliance training across the company; foster a culture of compliance and ethics.
- Bachelor’s degree in compliance, finance, business administration, law, or related field (law degree preferred).
- Certification in compliance (e.g., CRCM).
- 10+ years in financial regulatory compliance, preferably in small-dollar consumer lending, small business financing, and/or fintech.
- Experience scaling a compliance program in a fast-paced and growing FinTech business.
- Ability to manage a team and work with key stakeholders to drive the business forward.
- Deep knowledge of federal and state financial services laws and regulations (UDAAP, ECOA, TILA, FCRA, BSA/AML, licensing regimes).
- Proven success building and leading compliance management systems and enterprise risk frameworks.
- Experience managing bank sponsorships/partnerships, a plus.
- Familiarity with AI solutions, a plus.
- Ability to work on-site and full-time.
- International travel required.
