As we continue to enhance our platform, we’re seeking a UX Researcher to ensure that our product evolves to meet the needs of our growing customer base.

Role Overview

Drive Meaningful Impact through Research
As a UX Researcher at Ottimate, you will be responsible for uncovering user insights that guide product and design decisions, ensuring that Ottimate delivers a seamless, intuitive, and efficient user experience. You’ll partner closely with product managers, designers, marketing, and engineers to transform research findings into actionable recommendations that shape both the short-term enhancements and the long-term vision of our platform.

Responsibilities

User Research Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive research plan that aligns with the product roadmap and business objectives.
  • Identify key research questions and prioritize initiatives based on impact and feasibility.

Qualitative & Quantitative Research

  • Conduct a variety of research methods, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and data analysis.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover patterns, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.

Customer Understanding & Empathy

  • Build a deep understanding of Ottimate’s customer base, including AP managers, accountants, and finance teams.
  • Explore user behaviors, workflows, and mental models to ensure that new features align with real-world needs.

Synthesis & Insight Generation

  • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise, and compelling insights that drive decision-making.
  • Translate research insights into actionable recommendations to inform product and design improvements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with product, design, and development teams to ensure that user insights are incorporated throughout the design and development process.
  • Present findings to cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to advocate for a user-centered approach.

Continuous Improvement

  • Establish best practices for UX research and continually refine methodologies to maximize impact.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of design changes to ensure they address user needs effectively.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in UX research, preferably within SaaS, fintech, or B2B platforms.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Research Methods: Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including usability testing, user interviews, surveys, and analytics.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with research tools to gather, analyze, and visualize insights.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze and synthesize data effectively to inform design decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and storytelling skills to present research findings in a compelling and actionable way.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and advocate for the user.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with AP automation, accounting platforms, or financial software.
  • Knowledge of designing for enterprise users with complex workflows and sophisticated processes.
