Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead day-to-day monitoring of security alerts and logs from various systems.
  • Manage and optimize the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.
  • Oversee endpoint protection, firewall logs, and access controls.
  • Develop and maintain the Incident Response Plan (IRP).
  • Lead investigations and responses to security incidents and breaches.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests.
  • Coordinate patch management with IT and engineering teams.
  • Track and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure alignment with regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, Egyptian Central Bank guidelines).
  • Prepare for and support audits and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain and enforce security policies and SOPs.
  • Build and lead a small Security Operations Center (SOC) team.
  • Evaluate and implement security

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate has exceptionally high ownership, excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment. They would also be insanely focused on demonstrating excellence in service delivery and problem-solving, breaking down complex information into understandable and actionable items. You will be an active and contributory member in People team, with a direct impact on the culture and business trajectory in your country.


Other qualifications include:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  •  5+ years of experience in IT security with at least 2 years in a security operations role.
  • Experience in a fintech or high-growth tech startup is preferred.
  • collaboration tools, such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of modern cyber threats.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Hands-on with security tooling (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, etc.)
