Senior Relationship Manager, Bank North America

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Global Card Schemes and Payments Manager to join our team and help ensure smooth collaboration, growth and compliance with international card schemes. This is a key operational role, suited for someone with a strong background in online payments or card networks, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to navigate both structured daily tasks and larger, cross-functional initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the primary liaison with Global Card schemes and Payments related partners, managing day-to-day tasks and ongoing communication.

2. Lead and coordinate implementation and maintenance projects involving card schemes, ensuring alignment across teams on a global basis.

3. Lead, manage, and ensure execution of submission and oversight of reporting, support audits, certifications (i.e., 3DS) and compliance mandates.

4. Oversee and manage strategic card scheme-related registrations and projects

5. Maintain and administer connectivity and ongoing implementations with card scheme and banking portals.

6. Partner with internal stakeholders, including product, engineering, risk, underwriting, and compliance teams, to align on business needs and drive execution.

7. Open and close accounts as required for business needs.

8. Resolve banking-related issues swiftly and effectively, maintaining high responsiveness to internal and external stakeholders.

9. Develop, manage, and report on strategic plans, partner health, and key negotiation/expansion opportunities

This is a dynamic, cross functional and key role in working with some of the key payments scheme such as Visa, MasterCard, China Union Pay, JCB, American Express, Discover, and other local smaller nimble players

This role is steppingstone in gaining in depth understanding and knowledge of the payment space with one of the largest global payment Acquirer, Nuvei.

The Sr. manager will focus on US and Canada Schemes and Bank Partnerships. In this capacity the Sr. Manager will ensure smooth operations with Nuvei’s US bank sponsors. This will cover: Pricing, ongoing operations, facilitating with UW and compliance team, among other tasks.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the card schemes or online payments industry. Some banking background is a plus

• Understanding of card scheme operations and Payments overall, compliance, and regulatory frameworks

• Proven experience in payments with initiatives such as PCI DSS processes and requirements

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in parallel, with high attention to deadlines

• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-demand environments; ability to remain calm and deliver results under pressure

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft formal correspondence

• Proactive mindset – ability to identify issues before they arise and take initiative

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when working with documentation and portals

• Technically capable — comfortable working with online platforms, admin portals, and spreadsheets

• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to pursue creative solutions that results in getting things done.

• Professional fluency in English (written and spoken); other languages are an advantage
