The position
The Network Security Engineer (NSE) is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the bank’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance. This role covers LAN, WAN, wireless, firewalls, and AWS cloud networking environments, ensuring reliable communication and connectivity across the business.
What you’ll do
- Design, configure, and deploy network solutions and services on AWS Cloud and on-premises (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
- Set up and manage LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity to support business operations.
- Design and configure Amazon VPCs, subnets, route tables, and gateways.
- Implement secure connectivity solutions including AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, and Transit Gateway.
- Build hybrid network architectures integrating on-premises and AWS environments.
- Configure and manage AWS NACLs, Security Groups, and AWS WAF.
- Monitor network performance using AWS CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, and other monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot routing, connectivity, and latency issues in AWS environments.
- Manage IT networks and communication infrastructure to ensure high availability.
- Research, recommend, and implement upgrades and improvements in network security architecture.
- Monitor, record, and analyze network security system activities, trends, and results.
- Report on metrics relevant to network security performance, with trending analysis for business growth.
- Develop and enforce IT standards for consistency and compliance (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.).
- Manage IT inventory and logs related to the function.
What you bring
- BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4–6 years’ experience designing, implementing, and managing corporate networks.
- Proven experience with AWS networking services and cloud infrastructure.
- Cisco certification (CCNA/CCNP) preferred.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, HTTP/S, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with AWS services: VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing, Route 53, AWS Global Accelerator.
- Awareness and understanding of the financial services industry.
