Only three and a half years after entering the market, Mondu is one of Europe’s leading B2B payments providers. Now live across 30+ markets, trusted by ambitious companies, and operating with an EMI license, we’re expanding our commercial footprint in Europe and beyond.

We are now looking for a lawyer with a truly innovative mindset to steer and lead the legal guidance on a range of topics related to Mondu's product suite. You'll be given a lot of responsibility and autonomy to innovate the legal problem space from day one. Ideally, you'll be the first and global go-to legal contact and source of truth for key commercial and contractual topics. You'll work side-by-side with your commercial and product colleagues, and play a key strategic role in the future success of the Mondu.

We do not want you to get buried with routine tasks. Instead, we strive for automatization and standardisation of processes as much as possible. Ideally, your role will be to provide strategic guidance and training to the business on strategic contractual and regulatory going-to-market topics. For major and key strategic commercial partners, your participation at the negotiating table will be needed!

🚧 What you’ll do

• Main contact person for all commercial, contractual and partnership matters.
• Explore tools and be actively participating in developing automatization and standardisation of legal processes for the legal problem space and drive innovation in the legal problem space.
• Drafting and developing commercial templates, playbooks and negotiating key commercial contracts (with merchants, partners, payment service providers).
• Provide advice on commercial legal aspects of merchant cooperation, partnerships and third-party service providers and support the business stakeholders in negotiating contracts.
• Closely liaise with non-legal stakeholders and legal colleagues from different teams to drive, explore and solve relevant topics from a commercial legal perspective.
• Report to the CLO of Mondu and train your consulting and leadership skills.
  

🏅What you need to succeed

• 2+ years of relevant experience gained at a leading international law firm or within a fast-paced in‑house legal team.
• Fully qualified to practice law in Germany (second bar exam or equivalent European qualification).
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English (C1+).
• Relevant experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Experience working closely with product, risk and commercial teams in dynamic, technology‑driven settings.
• A hands-on mentality, able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment.
