The Head of Regulatory Affairs will lead a team that will act as the primary interface with government, regulators and supervisory bodies across our jurisdictions, ensuring strategic and operational alignment of our products and services to regulatory expectations in order to support our commercial activities.

The candidate will have a key role in defining the company’s regulatory compliance strategy and driving regulatory risk appetite. They will support a proactive approach to managing compliance risk by maintaining strong, trusted relationships with regulators and monitoring regulatory and policy developments and translating them into operational language. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep regulatory expertise and strong leadership skills to strengthen compliance and risk management across the Group.

What you will do

  • Devise the company’s strategy for proactive engagement with regulators and oversight bodies, to drive and maintain strong relationships across all jurisdictions where the Group operates, while supporting business activities.
  • Support the development of the Group’s regulatory compliance framework, as well as the relevant fit-for-purpose policies and standards required to support the future growth of the Group in a sustainable manner.
  • Maintain an updated view of the regulatory landscape and applicable requirements across the jurisdictions where the Group operates
  • Play a strategic role in supporting the Compliance team to ensuring regulatory compliance to applicable obligations, including but not limited to those related to licensing, reporting, and supervisory requirements.
  • Play a vital role in setting adequate regulatory compliance controls and support monitoring activities to confirm adherence to such controls, such as risk assessments and internal audits, including following-up to agreed remediations.
  • Set regulatory risk appetite and associated tolerance levels as well as the mechanisms to track, monitor and report on it.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and a business partner to support product and commercial teams during business development activities, pre-sales or throughout the product development and deployment journey, bringing critical regulatory insights to the process.
  • Lead the Regulatory Affairs team, a network of specialists within the regions who will be the primary parties responsible for the engagement with regulators.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, accountability, and risk awareness across the organization.
  • Advise senior leadership and the Board on regulatory risk and compliance related matters.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or risk management, including leadership experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements, specifically those affecting digital financial services providers and value-add services.
  • Ability to articulate general corporate governance requirements and good practices.
  • Previous experience in risk management and compliance frameworks is recommended.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory affairs and compliance processes and proven ability to design and implement related policies and controls.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, solution-oriented with ability to solve problems effectively and pragmatically.
  • Demonstrated integrity, ethical judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to influence at senior executive and Board level.
