POSITION OBJECTIVE

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Group's comprehensive Financial Crime framework, covering all entities and business lines. Primary focus is on payments and cards for both fiat and digital assets.
  • Define, establish, and embed the Group's AML policy and standards, ensuring alignment with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and manage the Group's Financial Crime Risk Appetite, translating it into clear operational guidelines and controls.
  • Oversee and optimize financial crime compliance operations, including payment screening, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, customer due diligence, and enhanced due diligence processes.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to business units on all financial crime matters, fostering a strong culture of compliance.
  • Stay abreast of evolving financial crime typologies, regulatory changes, and technological advancements, proactively identifying and mitigating emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Technology, to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to financial crime management.
  • Represent the Group in discussions with regulatory bodies and external partners on financial crime-related matters.
  • Lead and develop a team of financial crime professionals, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in financial crime, with a strong focus on policy, payments, AML and sanctions risk, and compliance operations.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing financial crime frameworks within complex organizations.
  • In-depth knowledge of global AML regulations (e.g., FATF recommendations, 4th/5th AML Directives, FinCEN guidelines), sanctions regimes, and anti-bribery and corruption principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and articulating Financial Crime Risk Appetite.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems and their inherent financial crime risks. Strong advantage if experience of operating in digital asset related businesses.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial crime concepts effectively to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Minimum qualification of Bachelors degree in a related field and relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) are highly desirable.
