The Role

We are seeking a dynamic Risk Manager to oversee Pepperstone’s MaRisk compliance and the critical management of our outsourcing activities. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in shaping the strategic development of our risk control processes to align with MaRisk compliance. You will be responsible for establishing robust risk management and control frameworks, ensuring the identification, assessment, management, monitoring, and reporting of the firm’s significant risks and their concentrations. These processes will seamlessly integrate into our risk management framework (Gesamtbanksteuerung), ensuring that we effectively limit and monitor risks in line with our internal capital adequacy and risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership of the internal capital adequacy and risk assessment process (ICARA)
• Implementation of risk management approach in compliance with AT 2.2 and BTR 1 MaRisk
• Strategic development of risk controlling processes in accordance with MaRisk compliance
• Organisation and development of relevant data and information as a single source of truth
• Document risk mitigation operations, including underlying market scenario (event risk and market conditions), firm’s exposure (NOP and Value at Risk) as well as risk mitigation actions and effectiveness
• Report risk mitigation actions and all framework breaches to the firm’s directors
• Provide risk reports and analysis to the firm’s directors

About you

• Strong professional experience in overall bank management and in risk controlling processes across risk types.
• In-depth knowledge of risk-bearing capacity, capital planning, stress tests, risk reporting, risk inventory, risk and model governance
• Proven experience in practical implementation of MaRisk requirements and ICARA
• Strong analytical mindset and a structured, independent way of working
• Excellent handling of the MS Office package, especially Excel
• Strong reporting and analytical skills
• Fluent in German and English
